If you are applying for this visa from inside the UK, you will need to show evidence that either your home country or last country of residence permits same-sex marriages and that your civil partnership has been legally registered overseas in order for it to be recognised in the UK. A valid marriage certificate, proof of at least one partner’s British nationality, evidence that an applicant has legal capacity to enter into a marriage, and appropriate documentation will also be needed.
