Carry trade is a strategy for earning money on the difference in interest rates in different countries.

It works like this: an investor borrows money in the currency of a state that has set low interest rates (as a rule, we are talking about developed countries). Then it converts into another currency and invests in debt instruments of states that have set high interest rates. Usually these are developing countries, which include Russia.
